DirecTV electrifies broadband-over-powerline

DirecTV has announced that it would become the first major US satellite company to offer broadband-over-powerline services, thanks to a deal with smart-grid provider Current Group.
DirecTV said it would bundle broadband-over-powerline high-speed Internet and VoIP with its digital TV services to about 1.8 million homes in the Dallas-Forth Worth, Texas region by early 2008.
